Rocky River Road Club Saturday Ride

Year-round ride. Not 'sponsored' by RRRC, but marshaled by club members. It starts from the parking lot of the Cycle Path shop (on Main Street in Cornelius...just south of the Davidson town line). It's a quick 30 miles out into Rowan County, with a stop/re-group at Sloan (Kerr Mill) Park...where the fast folks head back in the way they came, but as quickly as they can (ahem...), and a less-organized B group usually decides to go another 40 or more miles at a 'chill-ish' (18-19mph) pace...though nobody would get dropped under any circumstance. Two-up pace line technique, until about 2-3 miles before the stop at the park, when the troops get frisky.

Mojo Sunday Ride

8:00am - Sunday

Miles +/- Ride TypePace CatTerrain
38-50No Drop1,2,3FL,RH.H+
The Mojo Sunday Ride (not to be confused with rides lead by Mojo Cycles, the bike shop in Matthews) is a 38.5 mile loop in South Charlotte and heading south towards but not to Waxhaw. After a 10 mile warmup there is a brief break where the group will split into an A group and a B group. The A group pace it is typically around 21-22 mph with one very brief stop and some regrouping but this is a drop ride. The B group follows the same route so dropped A riders, if they choose, can be swept by the B group and finish with them. The B group averages around 18.5-19.5. This is listed as a no drop ride. There are 2 stops and regrouping. A cautionary note, the B group will meet the needs of the slowest rider but if 16-17 is your pace, this is not a ride for you. We occasionally have C group which rides the same route at about 16mph.
