Back by popular demand, the 2018 version of Iron Maiden will offer both a 12-hour and 24-hour option. We are also moving the date in the hopes of less rain this year. The Iron Maiden is a 12/24-hour test of physical and mental endurance for both solo racers and teams. The smooth and flowy single track invites a good rhythm as it bounds through Tannehill State Park, past a historic furnace that once forged the metal that made Birmingham the southern Steel City. With great camping, cabins, and a museum, this is a fantastic venue for families.
Lap distance: 9 miles
Elevation per lap: 784 feet
"Loved, loved the trails—superfast, flowy, and fun. They were not too technical, so riders of all abilities could participate. I enjoyed my last lap as much as the first!”
—Addie Teo, female relay 24-hour winner, Little Rock, Arkansas
Tannehill Historical State Park, 12632 Confederate Pkwy, McCalla, Alabama
